About Wailea & Ekahi Village
Wailea is located on the southwest side of the island about 20 minutes from the Kahului Airport. It was developed by the Alexander & Baldwin Co. (now the Maui Land and Pineapple Company) to offer its beauty, climate (Summer 70˚-90˚ - Winter 60˚-80˚), accessible beaches (Water Summer 78˚-82˚ - Winter 72˚-78˚), sunny days (330) and less blustery tradewinds to us fortunate visitors.
Ekahi was developed to maximize all of these qualities. Ekahi's grounds offer expansive ocean views and grass covered "seas." The island flora is everywhere: swaying coconut trees, bird of Paradise, orchids, heady plumeria, colorful hibiscus, bougainvillea, and red torch ginger.
Keawakapu, our beach, just below the clubhouse pool, offers a mile of sandy seclusion and is a great spot to whale watch, swim, snorkel, scuba (there's a man-made reef just off the shore), picnic, sail and boogie board..
